5th post of observation.

5th post.

At the This Fashion Shop at Paya Lebar.

What did I observe?

- Many people are walking around.

-Most of the people chose their clothes already then when they do not want it, they will just anyhow hang at the different places.

-Some without trying the clothes, they just buy it.

-Some are just looking around, then walked out of the shop.

-Some kids are running around in the shop playing hide and seek/ catching.

-Mostly are girls and only a few guys are the guy section.

-Some will just flip throught the clothes.

-The clothes are very messy, doesn’t have a correct section for different type of clothes.

-Some will look are the mirror to compare the clothes on them. Some stand in front of the mirror for quite some time.

-A few of them speak in other language and i think they are from Philippines.

-Men usually choose clothes faster than the Women.

-There isn’t much variety for men clothes.

-Many pieces of clothes are all in different sections.

What did I hear?

- The music in the background( christmas songs)

-“Do you have a new piece of this? “

-“Eh.. How much is this ah?”

-“This is not bad, looks good on you.”

-“Is there any discount for this?”

-“Ohmygod! This is so expensive!”

-“hmm.. I prefer that one. This is not nice.”

-“Do you have any other colour for this design?”

-“Aiya, just anyhow put la!”

-Some talked in some other languages.

What did I learn?

- Many people wil just anyhow put the clothes at somewhere else when they do not want that piece.

-There are too little choices for the men to choose and buy.

-Usually people do not have the habit to put back the piece back to the place where they took it from.

-Some clothes doesn’t have the price tag and so the consumer have to take to the counter and ask them. Sometimes it will irritate the cashier as they are busy.

What did it means?

- It means that many of the people doesn’t bother to put the clothes properly back to the place where they took it from and this will cause more work for the workers there.

-Not enough choices for the men. So they usually doesn’t like to shop and gets bored after awhile.

-Some clothes that doesn’t have a price tag and the consumers wants to lnow the price, so they will take to the counter but sometimes there are a lot people and the workers are busy. So it is quite troulesome for them to find out the price.

Do I have any ideas to tackle the challenge?

- Put a scanner machine at some places for the consumers to scan the items they want and know the price themselves instead of asking the cashiers.

- Maybe they can put some sensor at the hanger of the clothes, each different section got different code. So when the items are placed at the wrong section, there is a small alarm that will ring but not too loudly. Just to alert the consumers that the clothes are misplaced.
